Visit

A visit to Rodengo Abbey offers a unique experience of learning about the daily reality of the monastic community but also appreciating the artistic and architectural beauty of this ancient Benedictine monastery. During the tour through the abbey complex, visitors will be able to admire three cloisters, the abbey church (with the sacristy and monastic choir), the Romanino hall, the monumental refectory and anti-refectory with Gambara frescoes, and the chapter house.

There is no entrance fee, but a donation is suggested for the restoration of the monastery complex (those who donate at least €3.00 will be given a small photographic guide to the monastery; with the offer of €5.00 a larger size guide can be requested).

During the year it is possible to book guided tours (with a monk), which are for organized groups (not individuals; minimum 10 people) and run every day except Monday and Sunday mornings. Groups must not exceed 50 people. To book your visit and for information on costs, write an e-mail to visite@abbaziarodengo.it

Tours are suspended on Sunday mornings and every Monday. Opening hours are subject to change based on community commitments.

Guesthouse

"Spread your tent" (Is 54:2).

As the Benedictine Rule provides, we give ample space to hospitality, which is the typical form of monastic apostolate. In a recently renovated building has found its place our guesthouse, equipped with eight rooms, where the guest has the opportunity to insert himself in an atmosphere of prayer and silence to reinvigorate his faith, find inner peace and mature challenging choices. So, a chance to "unplug" from the often stressful routine of everyday life and whatever else kneads the daily grind, sharing in part the life of the monastic community.

Hospitality, contemplated in the Rule itself in Chapter 56, has a dual significance for the Benedictines: it aims to care for both the soul and the body of the individual, who seeks peace and serenity. The hospitality offered by the Rodengo community has spiritual purposes and is aimed at youth groups on retreat, families on retreat, and those who wish to do spiritual exercises. It is not religious tourism, but rather a desire to welcome those seeking a time of reflection and discussion. Currently, guests are received in the guesthouse, which has an availability of about thirty places.
